Please join the Mandeville Gallery for a Virtual Student Docent Talk featuring our current work study students as they discuss and interpret the artwork and themes presented in the current Mandeville exhibition, featuring the work of Jane Swavely, and the current Art Installation Series at Schaffer Library, featuring the work of Juan Hinojosa.
Student docents will offer insight about their interpretations of the exhibition, as it relates to their own research, interests, and personal experiences as students of Union College.
Inaugurated in the Fall of 2013, the Student Docent Program offers a unique work experience in a collegiate art gallery. Each student docent acts as a liaison between the gallery and our visitors, providing information and insight into the exhibitions on view. The following student docents will be presenting: Maymunah Ahmed (‘23), Ryan Hayes (‘23), Adenike Hickson (‘22), Mallory Nelson (‘22), and Samuel Perry (‘23).
This event is free and open to the public.
Due to campus-wide safety measures, Jane Swavely’s solo exhibition and Juan Hinojosa’s art installation, All Mine, can only be accessed by Union College students, faculty, and staff. For these members of the community, the Mandeville Gallery can be accessed Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 am to 5 pm, via the basement card access entry. Schaffer Library can be accessed during its regular operating hours via card access.
